The IDEAcarbon management team brings together extensive experience in carbon markets, financial analysis and credit rating. Key team players include:
Ian Johnson - Chairman
Ian joined IDEAcarbon following a distinguished career at the World
Bank. For eight years he was the Bank’s Vice President for Sustainable
Development overseeing its work on climate change and carbon finance.
Prior to that he played a major role in negotiating the establishment of the
Global Environment Facility (GEF) and managed its day-to-day operations for six
years. Ian is presently an advisor to Globe, G8+5 and to the UNFCCC.

Shandi J. Modi – Founder and CEO
Shandi has more than 18 years experience in the financial markets, as
advisor to governments, policy makers, hedge funds and proprietary traders.
He founded IDEAglobal as well as IDEAcarbon. Shandi was awarded an
Honorary Fellowship by the London School of Economics in recognition of his
services to the financial industry.

Amul Gogna – Managing Director (Ratings)
Amul has over nineteen years of experience in credit ratings and
business analysis. In 2006 he joined IDEAcarbon from ICRA, an
associate of Moody’s Investors Service in India. Highlights of his
experience include pioneering work in the risk analysis and ratings field in the
areas of infrastructure, healthcare and education.

Samuel Fankhauser – Managing Director (Strategic Advice)
Sam served on the 1995, 2001 and 2007 assessments of the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He also gained hands-on experience in
the design of emission reduction projects as a climate change economist for the
Global Environment Facility and the World Bank. Sam joined IDEAcarbon from the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where his most recent position
was Deputy Chief Economist.
