IDEAcarbon has initiated a weekly carbon market survey, gauging
risk appetite amongst buyers and sellers. The motivation for the survey was to
derive an understanding of primary CER (pCER) price ranges, with goal of
establishing a coherent price index. The key question, asked each week, captures
what market participants would currently pay for pCERS with four different risk
features.
As an independent provider of research and ratings, IDEAcarbon hopes
that this survey will further lend liquidity to the CER market by reducing
informational asymmetries and facilitating an understanding of the buy and sell
side of the CER market.
